MARK OF THE BEAST VII In my last post the subject of BUYING AND SELLING was broached in answer to Leroy's question. We discovered that abolishing one's right of BUYING AND SELLING is directly connected to EXCOMMUNICATION, which, in turn, is the direct result of one having been declared ANATHEMA by the Pope. PERPETUAL ANATHEMA is the most drastic form of the anathema, reserved only for the most contumacious. It was the perpetual anathema which Pope Lucius III decreed against the alleged heretics in his infamous bulla, AD ABOLENDAM. CONTUMACY = "stubborn refusal to submit to authority." (Webster). The alleged heretics stubbornly refused to submit to the authority of the Pope and Holy See. Why they rejected the Pope and his church will be examined later. But let us now examine the punitive measure of EXCOMMUNICATION further. The New Catholic Encyclopedia admits that excommunication always results in the distinctive characteristic of separating "the offender from the communion of the faithful," (article, EXCOMMUNICATION, CANONICAL). This includes separation from "the reception of the Holy Eucharist" as well as "the general loss of the right to the Sacraments." The unlikely prohibition against BURIAL is also named. Furthermore, the Encyclopedia makes the distinction between three kinds of communion or association with the faithful. "The first is a purely internal association by which the faithful are united by the bonds of divine grace, faith, hope, and charity. A second kind is that association of the faithful that is external and consists of the ORDINARY SOCIAL RELATIONS OF DAILY LIFE." It is this second kind that is explained by the Encyclopedia thusly, "With regard to the second kind of association (that which is wholly external and involves only the social and BUSINESS AFFAIRS OF DAILY LIFE), it is true that THE CHURCH CAN, IN THEORY, FORBID EVEN THIS TYPE OF COMMUNION, since it is her office to direct the faithful to their spiritual end. HOWEVER, SUCH A PROHIBITION, EVEN THOUGH COMMON IN ANCIENT DAYS, IS RARELY INVOKED TODAY…." This is but one answer to Leroy's question, How is it I can buy and sell if I have not taken the indelible Mark of the papal Beast? The prohibition against buying and selling IS RARELY INVOKED TODAY, though it was quite commonly used in the past. Why it is rarely invoked today is another issue. The reader now need review Rev. 13:17: "And that no man might buy and sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the [first] Beast, or the number of his name." Please note that the verbiage used by the New Catholic Encyclopedia exactly correlates to Rev. 13:17. "BUSINESS" = "the buying and selling of commodities and services; commerce; trade." (Webster). "FORBID" = "to rule against; not permit; prohibit." (Webster). "PROHIBITION" = "an order or law forbidding something to be done." (Webster). We must now calculate the odds of one church admitting to officially forbid buying and selling, forbid burial, as well as giving the indelible MARK/CHARACTEREM of the Beast, plus the other 9 characteristics fulfilled by the Church of Rome identified in previous posts. The statistical probability is ONE in ONE TRILLION, using the low probability scale of 1 out of 10 as the odds for fulfilling each of the twelve prophecies. I tell you the truth, I have barely scratched the surface in enumerating, out of official Magisterium teaching, the prophetic fulfillment of the Church of Rome, Mystery Babylon, and her Pontiff, the Antichrist. Types of Excommunication Elucidated The New Catholic Encyclopedia delineates two types of excommunication: "the TOLERATI, those to be tolerated, and the VITANDI, those to be shunned……The VITANDI were to be AVOIDED IN ALL THINGS as much as possible, for they had been excommunicated for only the most heinous offenses. This distinction between the two classes has been RETAINED UNTIL THE PRESENT (CIC c.2258.1)." Please note: this canon law has not been abolished, but is still very much in effect. The Encyclopedia asserts that those declared VITANDI are only those whose crimes were "ATROCIOUS." We will soon see what "atrocious crimes" those anathematized by Pope Lucius III had actually committed. The Encyclopedia continues, "Another distinction between the two classes of excommunicates is that one becomes VITANDUS only after he has been excommunicated by a published decree of the Holy See itself, in which he is mentioned by name, and in which it is mentioned that he is to be avoided in so far as possible (CIC c.2258.2)." This is, of course, the case with those named in the bulla, AD ABOLENDAM. Special Excommunication for those who cooperate with the VITANDI I quote the Encyclopedia, "There is, however, a special excommunication reserved to those who cooperated with the VITANDUS in the crime for which he was excommunicated." This aspect of excommunication will also be investigated as we continue our study of the MARK OF THE BEAST. Jesus prophesied excommunication as a MARK OF THE BEAST "These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended. They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. And these things will they do unto you because they have not known the Father, nor me." (John 16:1-3). The Greek text translated "put you out of the synagogues" connotes "excommunication." See any Lexicon. Jesus warns His present and future disciples that excommunication unto death will be the Mark of the false church and her Beast. The false believers who commit this unrighteous act do not know the true God. This I will prove finds its fulfillment in the Church of Rome and Papacy, the spiritual descendents of the Jewish religionists who crucified Christ. It would be the Church of Rome and her Beast who would be guilty of killing the Body of Christ. Lord willing, this study will continue using only Scripture, the official teachings of the Magisterium, as well as the authoritative decrees of the Popes. May the gracious God who rules the heavens and the earth shine His glorious light where there is much darkness.
